Freedom and Servitude

Great post on freedom and servitude here:

I particularly like this quote:

“If ye love wealth (or security) better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

As the author of the post says, “Servitude can exist in a free society, but freedom cannot exist in a slave nation.”

The left insists that “rights” can be had without cost, but it’s not true. There can be socialized communes in a free nation, but no “free” enclaves in one that has become socialized.

I concur with the author that collectivizing our society is tantamount to enslaving us, and fighting it is imperative.
